When I looked at what sort of Travel Blogs are out there on the Net, I came across hundreds. They are mostly Leisure Travel Blogs sharing information on destinations, or how to construct your trip. There are lots of tips. Many dos and don’ts. I have also seen some Business Travel Blogs that cater mainly to the corporations; not too many of those, however.
I hope to be able to address different audiences: both travellers (mainly from a Leisure Travel point of view), and Travel professionals. Some of you may think that in doing so, I may be walking a tight rope. In my own professional life, I have never had much to hide. Of course, when you make confidential deals with business partners, be they suppliers or customers, details of the agreement will always have to remain confidential. Other than that, skills, processes and information, can be discussed quite openly.
I have been in the business of Travel for over 40 years. I have worked for major Airlines and Travel companies, including top Travel Management companies. I have also travelled to over 40 countries. My experience has been varied: from selling across the counter to senior management, and everything in between. Over the years, I have acquired significant knowledge in various aspects of the Business. They comprise Sales, Travel Operations, Account Management, Corporate Travel, Marine Travel, Leisure Travel, MICE, Contact Centre Management, Contracting, VAT Recovery, Travel Marketing, HR Management and General Management. My experience extends to markets all over the Middle East and West Asia; fifteen countries, to be precise. I have always had a passion to pass on my learning to those around me. With the advent of the Internet it has now become possible to share anything one wishes to, with a wider audience that could indeed be spread all over the world. That is precisely what I would like to do with this Travel Blog.
I am hoping that we will have some lively conversations here, which may indeed trigger new ideas for my blog. If there are any topics on Travel, that you would like me to write about, please let me know in the comments box. I am aware that all blogs will evolve over time. Some may even become completely different from what they started out to be. I am really excited about this new venture. Welcome to my new Travel Blog.
